On this day many will celebrate Independence Day with family gatherings, coming together of friends, sleeping in, eating food and watching fireworks. But yet the burdens of our day to day still looms. For a lot of us, the burdens of failures, mistakes, overwhelming addictions, loneliness, hopelessness and many other negatives, have pushed us down for too long. They have crippled us in a state of bondage, keeping us from truly experiencing freedom. It doesn't need to be this way. Freedom is not a status in society or a country in which we live. Freedom is something for everyone and it is a matter of the heart. If the person we desire to be is the not the person we are today, then we must stop letting the person today beat us down. All the things are going through and feeling are real, which means we really need to wake up and fight against all of those things. We are already equipped and created with everything we need to be able overcome and break the chains that are binding us. We are created to be more than conquerors, but it really must start at the heart. If the heart is allowed to develop a taste for negative it will continue in that way, but when we introduce the spirit of hope, the heart begins to desire hope. May this be a day we decide to declare our independence from all the things keeping us from the person we know we need to become. As a band and even individuals, we know we must put our hope in more than the things of this world. There is a God who truly does love you and is calling you into the Freedom you desire.
